Kempton, Monday 31 October: The all-weather track at Kempton Park is the venue for eight races today. The Floodlit Stakes (6th race/5.13pm/50,000 pounds/2413m), a Listed race for three-year-olds and older horses, takes centre stage.
The comeback of Berkshire Rocco (Jason Watson) is eagerly awaited. Andrew Balding`s charge, who came in beaten in the Long Distance Cup (Group 2) a year ago, showed his best performance in Doha, where he finished a strong second in the Amir Trophy (Group 1). Among his fiercest rivals is Candleford (Cieren Fallon), third in the Cumberland Lodge Stakes (Group 3) earlier in the month. Felix (Neil Callan) should also play a supporting role. The Dubai Turf third (Group 1) is showing his best performances over sand at the moment. King Of The South (Callum Shepherd) is coming off a seven-plus month break and needs to be noticed at the drop of a hat. Stowell (David Probert) has left the Gosden quarters. For him, a placing is within the realms of possibility. For Warren Point (James Doyle) and Wild Crusade (Jim Crowley) Charlie Appleby is responsible, who won the match two years ago with Loxley. The two three-year-olds appear strong enough to run in the betting.

Sand track cracks in the Floodlit Stakes
Halle-Ultimo 2022 with a 37,000 euro chance
Halle, Monday, 31 October: The second date of the year is also the crowning finale: Halle offers the best race in 2022 within the seven tests between 12:30 and 15:45 on Monday, which is a public holiday here (Reformation Day). In the Grand Prix of Gestüt Röttgen - BBAG Auction Race, 37,000 euros will be paid out to the owners of three-year-old horses over 2,200 metres.
Perhaps Wild Man (B. Murzabayev) can make his presence felt again right away after the long abstinence since the Derby Trial in Baden-Baden. Nastaria (M. Lopez), who comes from better assignments, as well as the serial winner Pädchen (M. Pecheur) also seem to be dangerous.
Over 1,500 metres, the two-year-olds are challenged in the Hallenser Jugendpreis, which was secured in 2021 by none other than the subsequent Derby hero Sammarco. Several large quarters will be represented here with interesting debutants, such as Markus Klug with Serienmond (A. Starke) or Peter Schiergen with Drawn to Dream (B. Murzabayev).
10,000 Euros are on the line for the four-horse bet of the 7th race (Equalisation III, 2,200 m). Valentino Dancer (M. Abik) could win again.

Finale furioso in Hoppegarten
Hoppegarten, Sunday, 30 October: If this is not an attraction at the last race of the year at the Parkbahn in Berlin-Hoppegarten. On Sunday there will be another Nurmi event here with the Silver Horse (Group III, 55,000 Euros, 3,000 m), because here you really need a real horse`s tongue, or endurance qualities.
Nerium (B. Murzabayev) finished third in The Länd Trophy in Baden-Baden as favourite and also has good prospects here. Aff un zo (M. Pecheur) is last year`s winner, but he remained without a chance in a Munich match race after a long break. Only eight days after his victory in the Italian St. Leger, Sir Polski (L. Wolff) will be called up again. Always a factor is Lubiane (L.-M. Engels). Silence Please (J. Bojko) should be noted right away on his German debut. The Swede Quebello (A. Pilroth) also brings decent performances.
Races 1 to 3 of the total of eight competitions between 10:50 am and 2:55 pm will also be shown in France. An Equalisation II over 1,800 metres is very appealing. The local heroine Möwe (M. Abik) was able to improve more and more. A four-way bet with a payout of 11,111 Euros will be played in the 8th race (Equalisation IV, 2,400 metres). Whoever scores here can consider himself lucky. 15 horses are in the running. Beauty (M. Pecheur) should finally be able to win.
Upscale sport in Chantilly
Chantilly, Sunday, 30 October: High-class sport will be on offer today at Chantilly, where the Prix Miesque (3rd race/13.23 h/80,000 Euro/1400 m) will be run as the first of two Group 3 races. The lot appeals to two-year-old mares. Here, the result of 8 October will be put to the test. In the Prix Saraca (list race), Eternal Dance (Mickael Barzalona) was clearly ahead against Moon Ray (Stephane Pasquier) and Lady Mia (Theo Bachelot). Showay (Anthony Crastus) and Blue Bayou (Jean-Bernard Eyquem) gave their visiting cards in the Grand Criterium de Bordeaux (List race).
Three-year-olds and older horses are under order in the Grand Prix du Nord (5th race/14.33 h/80,000 Euro/1200 m). Coeur de Pierre (Tony Piccone) was not far from victory in the Prix de l`Abbaye de Longchamp and held her ground in third place ahead of Mo Celita (Barry McHugh), who also performed very well in fourth. Ponntos (Theo Bachelot) also did well behind. Vadream (David Egan) ended not far from a better placing in the Champions Sprint Stakes (Group 1). Egot (Mickael Barzalona) won the Prix Palais-Royal at Group 3 level before his break.

Strong start with the three-year-olds
Paris-Vincennes, Saturday, 29 October: Two sighting tests with horses of the J-year old age group are in the foreground at the beginning today in Vincennes. Among the stallions in the Prix Victor Regis (1st race/16.42/120,000 Euro/2175 m), Sebastien Guarato is represented with three chances. Prix Jacques de Vauloge (Group 2) winner Juninho Dry (Paul Philippe Ploquin) and Critérium des 3 Ans (Group 1) runners-up Jaguar Griff (Romain Hue) and Jaguar Wit (Tony Le Beller) face Jack Tonic (Theo Duvaldestin), for whom the 2022 Yearling Cup triumph over Jaguar Marancourt (Francois Lagadeuc) speaks.
The mares are among themselves in the Prix Uranie (2nd race/17.18/120,000 euros/2175m). Here, too, trainer Thierry Duvaldestin is staking a claim to victory through Juliet Papa Bravo (Clement Duvaldestin). The Ready Cash daughter, who recently came second in the European Championships for three-year-olds (Group 1), will have to watch out for Jamaica Turbo (Franck Nivard), who proved her great class in the Prix Annick Dreux (Group 2). With a victory in the final sprint, she outran Juliet Papa Bravo as well as Just Love You (Alexandre Abrivard) and Jeep du Pont (Jeremy Gaston Van Eeckhaute), who were in the picture in the places.
Twelve in the Grand Steeple-Chase de Compiegne
Compiegne, Saturday, 29 October: With the Grand Steeple-Chase de Compiegne (5th race/16.25 h/210,000 Euro/4100 m), a top-class Group 2 race over the chasing jumps is up for decision today at the track of the same name.
Feu Follet (Baptiste Le Clerc), who is competing under maximum weight, has enough class to win the match. In the dress rehearsal here in the Prix Jim Crow (Listed race) it was not enough for full success, but still convinced in defeat before Geelong Sport (Johnny Charron), who then finished a strong second six lengths behind the winning Hispanic Moon (Kevin Nabet) in the Prix de la Gascogne (Group 3). Gran Diose (James Reveley) had an unfortunate run and came in a distant second. His victory in the Prix Romati (Group 3) counts. Astadame (Pierre Dubourg) prepared victoriously for today`s task in Auteuil. Nature (David Gallon) could build on his third place from last year after two less meaningful performances.

Group 3 race in Vincennes
Paris-Vincennes, Friday, 28 October: Tonight`s event in Vincennes still officially counts as an autumn meeting, but it gives a foretaste of the major winter racing events to come.
In the Prix Pierre Van Troyen (2nd race/18.58 h/80.000 Euro/2700 m) four- and five-year-old horses of the winning category up to 300.000 Euro will compete. Heraut d`Armes (Nicola Bazire) has caught up with the top class of the year after his triumph in the European Championships for Five-Year-Olds (Group 1) against Hohneck.
and is on the verge of his next success. Horsy Dream (Pierre Belloche) had a successful summer in Enghien, where the stallion could not be beaten three times in a row. Here, at a higher level, he did not come into his own as usual. Hinden (Franck Nivard) did well in the Critérium des 5 Ans (Group 1) close behind the leading group as sixth and must be included in all considerations.
The I-year-old, born four years ago, will be addressed in the Prix Olry-Roederer (5th race/20.50 h/80,000 Euro/2850 m). Eleven saddle trotters will take part, including Intuition (Adrien Lamy), who won impressively in the Prix des Elites (Group 1) and before that in the Prix Emile Riotteau (Group 2). Ideale du Chêne (Paul Philippe Ploquin) always cut a good figure as a `runner up` to the Malmqvist mare. She is also expected to be in the front running as is Inshore (Alexandre Abrivard), who was not shown his limits in his success in the Prix Camille de Wazieres (Group 2) over Ici C`Est Paris (Francois Lagadeuc) and Ibra du Loisir (Yoann Lebourgeois).
Two Listed races for mares in Saint-Cloud
Saint-Cloud, Friday, 28 October: Two Listed honours will be contested today at the gates of Paris in Saint-Cloud.
Three- and four-year-old fillies will compete in the Prix Isola Bella (5th race/15.25 h/52,000 Euro/1600 m). Whether Joseph O`Brien`s outing with Emphatic Answer (Dylan McMonagle) pays off remains to be seen for now, but the only four-year-old in the field should not be judged by the form she brings. The trade press favours Indian Wish (Mickael Barzalona), who won impressively in Lyon. Close behind is Missyouni (Aurelien Lemaitre), who celebrated a narrow victory here in a `Classe 1`. Almohandesah (Tony Piccone) was last seen in England but also showed her ability at Longchamp.
Mares of Derby vintage are among themselves in the Prix Solitude (7th race/16.35/55.000 Euro/2000 m). Cantilena (Mickael Barzalona), who was only narrowly defeated in Düsseldorf, could now make up for lost time and score her third career victory. To do so, she will first have to get rid of Tres Queen (Coralie Pacaut), who has been unbeatable three times in a row. Qitura (Stephane Pasquier) fought for list silver in Compiegne, was narrowly beaten but better than Ridaviya (Gerald Mosse) and Ondulee (Maxime Guyon). Queen Trezy (Tony Piccone) hits it easier than in the Prix de Royallieu (Group 1).

Two Listed Races at the All-Weather Track
Lingfield, Thursday 27 October: Two Listed races will be decided at the all-weather track at Lingfield today.
Over the long way is the River Eden Fillies Stakes (4th race/16.15pm/£45,000/2615m). Twelve contenders are vying to succeed Sea La Rosa saddled by William Haggas, who has won the fixture three times in the last five years. This time he is saddling Bartzella (Cieren Fallon), who has already won at list level this year. John and Thady Gosden are represented with three horses. This year`s winners One Evening (Ryan Moore) and Darmoiselle (Robert Havlin) are expected to be in the front-runners as well as last year`s runner-up Pennymoor (James Doyle), who was not convincing on her seasonal debut in Yarmouth and finished far behind Viola (Daniel Muscutt), who was third behind Pennymoor twelve months ago. Pearl Beach (Neil Callan) and Strawberri (Andrea Atzeni), who finished second and fourth respectively, also finished ahead of the Godolphin mare at Yarmouth.
In the Fleur De Lys Fillies Stakes (5th race/5.00pm/£45,000/1609m), twelve fillies have the opportunity to qualify for the Final Day at Newcastle in April 2023. Crystal Caprice (Ryan Moore) from the stable of Sir Michael Stoute could solve the ticket. She has already won three times this year and most recently finished third at List level in Newmarket ahead of Improvised (Daniel Tudhope). The fresh runner-up Queen Aminatu (Cieren Fallon) and Internationalangel (James Doyle), who finished fourth at Group 2 level on 7 October well ahead of Oscula (Clifford Lee), are not considered to be much weaker.

Germans in Le Croise-Laroche
Le Croise-Laroche, Wednesday 26 October: Today`s eight-race Le Croise-Laroche event was well received from a German perspective, with the Fabian Xavier Weissmeier-trained Elizabea (Esther Ruth Weissmeier) aiming for a placing against five rivals in the introductory Prix d`Hem (1st race/11.50am/16,000 Euro/2500m). In her latest appearance in a Maiden race, she finished clear in midfield ahead of Radiant Sky (Tony Piccone), who showed an approach before that when third.
The youngest raceable yearling will contest the Prix de Deauville (3rd race/12.50/15,000 Euro/1800m/sale race), in which Andreas Suborics` Bassoon (Martin Seidl) is expected to finish up front after two unsuccessful appearances in France. The Ralf Rohne-trained Isn`t She Lovely (Augustin Madamet) remained within her possibilities in Leipzig, but is also not without a chance here. Jagda (Alison Massin) pleased in Dieppe on second place and will be interesting with weight allowance. Stellar Jay (Clement Lecoeuvre) is a two-time track winner, but is now hitting it harder.
The Prix d`Armentieres (6th race/14.42pm/12,000 Euro/1800m) will decide another sales race. The Fabian Xavier Weissmeier-trained Lex Luthor (Esther Ruth Weissmeier) won a similar match in August. It is quite possible that the five-year-old will end up in front again. Quartzdargent (Delphine Santiago) and Gaetano Donizetti (Chloe Colardo) carry low weight and are among the closest favourites.

Flamme du Goutier rehearses for the meeting
Paris-Vincennes, Tuesday, 25 October: The winter meeting in Vincennes is just around the corner. Reason enough to take a look at today`s eight-race event. In the Prix Isara (4th race/18.15 h/90.000 Euro/2850 m) horses of the higher winning category will meet. From 300,000 euros, participants have to pay an allowance.
Flamme du Goutier (Theo Duvaldestin), rich with 1.2 million euros, stands out by class. The mare, who came third in the Prix d`Amérique (Group 1) this year, ran in the Grand Prix Anjou-Maine (Group 3) 20 days ago and did not sell badly with an allowance in the midfield. In that match, Duel du Gers (Matthieu Abrivard) and Epsom d`Herfraie (Jean-Michel Baudouin) finished in the rear third. A dangerous opponent lurked in the front band. Hermine Girl (Yoann Lebourgeois) recently hit it too hard under saddle, but won a `normal` match in front of the sulky easily before that. Flaya Kalouma (Gabriel Angel Pou Pou) made a rebuilding start. The Royal Dream daughter should run better today and play a supporting role. Eliska Berry (Hugues Monthulé) announced herself in Lyon. Like Histoire d`Una (Alexandre Abrivard) and Diego du Canter (Eric Raffin), who are competing in strong hands, she is to be watched.

Strong two-year-olds in Marseille
Marseille-Borely, Monday, 24 October: Eight promising two-year-olds will contest today`s Prix Delahante in Marseille (3rd race/13.05 h/60,000 Euro/1700 m), which is part of the Listed class. The Nicolas Perret-trained Harry Way (Stephane Pasquier) won his second race here three weeks ago and must not be missed in any consideration.
He has priority to beat Hayejohn (Tony Piccone), who was recently overmatched at Group 3 level but before that won a Listed race clearly in his favour. Of the three contenders saddled by Patrice Cottier, Horizon Dore (Marvin Grandin) and Pacific Boy (Mickael Barzalona) deserve increased notice after their two debut successes. Cambronne (Theo Bachelot) has yet to make amends for his recent disappointing run in Lyon. Bolivie (Anthony Crastus) also fell short in Toulouse. The unbeaten Una Stode (Guillaume Millet) and Mquise de Maintenon (Simon Planque) are two other horses in good form with chances of winning.

Excellent sport at the Neue Bult finale
Hanover, Sunday, 23 October: The race day of the studs will be the worthy conclusion of the racing year in Hanover on Sunday. The Neue Bult will once again be teeming with top classes within the eleven races between 11:20 am and 4:55 pm. The first four races are also part of the PMU card.
The focus is on the WALDPFAD Trophy (Group III, 55,000 Euros, 2,200 m). Here India (R. Piechulek) could win again after two very good places of honour at Group level. Possibly the Oaks d` Italia winner Nachtrose (B. Murzabayev) moves again more than last time. She is also the stable jockey`s choice over the finely improved Techno Music (M. Pecheur). Alaskasonne (A. Starke) can do enough for such a task.
Three Listed races are further in the spotlight. In the Alson Criterium (22,500 Euros, 1,400 m) Azshara (A. Starke) from the stable of Markus Klug should be far ahead again after the expected debut hit. Atlanta City (W. Panov) was very pleasing in Dresden.
In the Grand Prix of the Arc winner Torquator Tasso (22,500 Euros, 1,400 m) there is a very international line-up. Waldersee (J. Bojko), who corrected some weaker forms last time out in Stockholm, is likely to be one of the many options for victory, as is the former Group winner Namos (W. Panov).
In the Grand Prix of the Mehl-Mülhens Foundation (22,500 Euros, 1,750 m), the victory could go to Ireland through Giladah (D. Egan). In addition, La Estrellita (P. Gibson) pleases in the performances from Iffezheim and France. Goldana (B. Murzabayev) ran very well in a similar task.
The Equalisation I over the mile is also very pleasing. Things are looking very favourable for the perennially placed Way to Dubai (W. Panov). It is his third attempt to beat Western Soldier (B. Murzabayev).
The quadruple bet with guaranteed payouts of 10,000 euros each beckons in the 6th race (Equalisation III, 1,600 m) and in the 11th race (Equalisation IV, 2,200 m).

Two classics for the youngest
Saint-Cloud, Saturday 22 October: Great sport is on offer today in Saint-Cloud, where three Group 3 races frame two classics for the youngest active age group.
The Criterium International (2nd race/13.58 h/250,000 Euro/1600 m) is over the mile and will be decided with German participation. Michael Figge will travel with Romina Power (Martin Seidl), who has already announced herself here with a place of honour. The only mare in the field will meet tough opponents. Group 1 runner-up Proud And Regal (Gavin Ryan) and Kubrick (Cristian Demuro), who was successful at Group 3 level, are just two prominent names. Aidan O`Brien saddles the fresh winner Espionage (Ioritz Mendizabal) with the best chances.
The Criterium de Saint-Cloud (3rd race/14.33 h/250,000 euros) over two kilometres promises an exciting outcome. Aidan O`Brien is represented twice with Covent Garden (Dylan McMonagle) and Adelaide River (Ioritz Mendizabal). John/Thady Gosden with Arrest (Robert Havlin), Jim Bolger with Gan Teorainn (Kevin Manning), Andrew Balding with Ndaawi (Maxime Guyon), Harry Eustace with Cite d`Or (Tony Piccone) and Charlie/Mark Johnston with Dubai Mile are other strong guests from England and Ireland who are in contention for victory.
Dresden: Two-year-olds and handicaps
Dresden, Saturday, 22 October: There are not too many more opportunities in the new federal states to go hunting for points in 2022. But on Saturday there are eight chances in Dresden between 13:45 and 17:15.
The two-year-old race over 1,500 metres looks very promising. Dalvida (A. Starke), trained by Markus Klug, should find the most followers, as the start was promising.
In the Equalisation III over 2,950 metres, Rowdy Lips (J. Bojko) is coming close to a victory. Furthermore, Rocky (L.-M. Engels) could pick up the thread of success again. Powerpackage (J. Verner) clearly showed an upward trend.
In the 2,000 metres Equalisation III Angel Park (A.-L. Weidler) and Rosa (N. Polli) announce their first chances.
10,000 Euros await in the four-way bet of the 7th race (Equalisation IV, 2,100 metres). Here, Beauty (M. Pecheur) and Varicon (R. Haedens) are two of the possible bank horses.

Offspring in two Group 3 tests
Paris-Vincennes, Friday, 21 October: The K-crop born two years ago will be tested in two Group 3 classes today at the Plateau de Gravelle.
In the Prix Louis Cauchois (6th race/21.39 pm/54,000 Euro/2200 m) it is the turn of the two-year-old stallions. Unbeaten in three starts, Philippe Allaire-trained Knockonwood (David Thomain) leads the field of ten. In his recent success in the Prix Phaedra (Course A), he left Kamehameha (Cedric Parys) and Kataki de Wallis (Franck Nivard) behind him in superior fashion and was also in fast time in his previous triumph. King Opera (William Bigeon) is also a serial winner and has not yet had to show his limitations. In the Prix Hekate (Course A) he defeated Canada (Theo Duvaldestin) without any trouble.
The Prix Marcel Dejean (7th race/22.07 pm/54,000 Euro/2200 m) is reserved for mares. Judging by the result in the Prix Undina (Course A), the way to victory leads via Kana de Beylev (Eric Raffin). Kalamity d`Heripre (Franck Nivard) and Kyrielle (William Bigeon) did not fight second back for the silver medal, behind them Kanawa (David Thomain) disappointed, who had been up against the latter two before. Klassic Way (Julien Dubois), who celebrated her first success in the Prix Aquitania (Course C), was to play a leading role.

Two Group 3 races in Auteuil
Auteuil, Thursday, October 20: Top-class steeplechase racing comes from Auteuil today, where the Prix Magne (5th race/15.52/120,000 euros/3600m) is the first Group 3 race to be run. The semi-classic for three-year-old fillies leads over the hurdle jumps and sees Angela du Berlais (Baptiste Le Clerc), who was third in the Prix de Chambly (Group 3) last time, well in front. Pearl Of Wisdom (Angelo Zuliani), who last finished third on the list ahead of Villa Rica (Johnny Charron), hardly appears worse. Katiana du Berlais (Pierre Dubourg) pleased in her maiden win here in the spring. Her meager showing in the Prix de Chambly should not be chalked up too harshly to the three-year-old. Cour Supreme (Christopher Riou) are fresh winners and to be penciled in for the final.
As a Group 3 handicap, the Prix Montgomery (9th race/18.12pm/165,000 euros/4700m) will be run at the end. Fantastic Sivola (Gaetan Masure) continued his streak of good performances in the Grand Steeple Chase at Craon. The seven-year-old, who is competing with a high mark, can win the match, but has a tough opponent ahead of him in training companion Malbec du Mathan (Pierre Dubourg). The gelding finished strongly in the Prix Violon II (Listed race) here ahead of nine of his fellow competitors today. Raffles Classic (Dylan Salmon) still held up best to the Chaille-Chaille protégé.

Alpinista half-sister in Deauville
Deauville, Wednesday, 19 October: The three-day meeting in Deauville continues today with a nine-race programme. At list level, two tests are up for decision. In the Prix Vulcain (4th race/12.50/55,000 Euro/2500 m) nine three-year-old horses will meet, of which Alpenblume (Cristian Demuro) deserves a special mention.
The mare, trained by Tim Donworth for Kirsten Rausing, is none other than the half-sister of Alpinista, who recently won the `Arc de Triomphe` in Longchamp. At the same venue, Alpenblume finished a good fourth in Prix Joubert (Listed race). Among her challengers is Carini (Mickael Barzalona) from the Francis-Henri Graffard quarters. The Siyouni son disappointed recently after three wins here when fifth on the list. Surrey Mist (Ioritz Mendizabal), travelling from England, will be interesting with his fresh success at Windsor. Garachico (Tony Piccone) has been running at an upmarket level this year and has always finished in a honoured position. Excelsior (Olivier Peslier) recommended himself for better tasks with a hard-fought victory in Saint-Cloud.
Farrell Seven the star in Feurs
Feurs, Wednesday, 19 October: The twelfth leg of the Grand National du Trot racing series (1st race/13.50 h/90,000 Euro/2850 m) will take place today at the Hippodrome in Feurs. The Group 3 competition has a clear favourite in Farrell Seven (Nicolas Bazire), who has already won the stages in Meslay-du-Maine and Vire and extended his winning streak.
The seven-year-old could be challenged by Edy du Pommereux (David Bekaert) and Echo de Chanlecy (Anthony Tintillier), who came in clearly behind him, but also Fairplay d`Urzy (Romain Congard) and Django du Bocage (Pierre Callier), who follow further behind, could be in the front line. From the baseline, the in-form Guevara du Pont (Eric Raffin) registers first chances. Day de Bellouet (Anthony Barrier) did not sell badly in September behind Farrell Seven.

Two-year-olds in the spotlight in Deauville
Deauville, Tuesday, 18 October: Youngsters are in the spotlight at today`s eight-race event in Deauville. First up are the mares in the Group 3 Prix des Reservoirs (2nd race/12.20pm/80,000 euros/1600m). Jean-Claude Rouget is sending two contenders to win the race. Around Midnight (Coralie Pacaut) held her own at List level in Craon, celebrating her second career success, as did Elounda Queen (Cristian Demuro), who was repeatedly unrivalled in Saint-Cloud. Philippe Sogorb also made two appearances. Onyxka (Ioritz Mendizabal) kept her clean slate in Toulouse. Fancy Me (Mickael Barzalona), among others, pleased as list fourth. Angelaba (Maxime Guyon) and Wonderfull Lady (Gregory Benoist) did not quite meet the expectations in the Critérium de Lyon (List race) behind the three first placed horses.
One stallion and six mares will contest the Prix Zeddaan (3rd race/12.50 h/60,000 Euro/1200 m). Secret Angel (Tony Piccone), California Gem (Theo Bachelot) and Kerindia (Maxime Guyon), who travelled from England, deserve a hint with good forms. They are up against strong local competition. First and foremost Leibovitz (Christophe Ferland), who was very convincing on debut. Good Guess (Stephane Pasquier) gets the opportunity to correct his strike result in the Prix de Cabourg (Group 3) against Kerindia and Wootton City (Mickael Barzalona). Emerald Lake (Yoann Rousset) is one of the outsiders with her current performances.
Monday, October 17, 2022
Suborics with Bay Of Eagles at Clairefontaine.
Clairefontaine, Monday 18 October: The week starts in Clairefontaine with an eight-race programme. Bay Of Eagles (Jules Mobian) from the stable of Andreas Suborics has been entered for the Prix Ashmore (2nd race/14.25 h/28,000 Euro/2900 m). The three-year-old already showed smaller beginnings in this country.
However, the Adlerflug son showed his best performance recently in Strasbourg, where he won a Maiden race as a big outsider. Three other current winners stand in the way of the German guest. Shaiyhar (Mickael Barzalona) fought his way to a winless game in Longchamp. Secession (Gregory Benoist) marked their second career win in handicap at the same venue. Badge (Bauyrzhan Murzabayev) was other goods in Angers. Randonneur (Eddy Hardouin) celebrated a convincing victory on this track. Most recently, he finished well behind Bob la Bidouille (Theo Bachelot) and ahead of Lovely Laura (Tony Piccone) in Fontainebleau. Courtesy Call (Clement Lecoeuvre) battles bravely through the classes.

Addeybb against Four in the Prix du Conseil de Paris.
Longchamp, Sunday, 16 October: Nine races will be decided today in Paris-Longchamp. After two Listed tests, the Group 2 Prix du Conseil de Paris (6th race/16.25/130,000 Euro/2200 m) follows, in which Addeybb (Tom Marquand) from William Haggas` quarters could score his first win of the season. The four-time millionaire, who last finished in midfield in the Prix Dollar (Group 2), will be up against Andreas Schütz` Monty (Gerald Mosse). The seven-year-old is in great form, as his two Group 3 successes on this course clearly underline. Kertez (Maxime Guyon) was without possibilities against Monty in La Coupe. Mutabahi (Mickael Barzalona) stayed within his capabilities in the Prix Foy (Group 2). Here he won the Prix d`Hedouville (Group 3) against Alter Adler. Raymond Tusk (Rossa Ryan) faced heavy handicaps in England, this time the King protégé takes it easier.
Who will ascend the throne in the BBAG - Prize of the Winter Queen?
Baden-Baden, Sunday, 16 October: Great sport to round off the Sales & Racing Festival on Sunday in Baden-Baden. In the BBAG - Prize of the Winter Queen (Group III, 155,000 Euros, 1,600 m) the most promising two-year-old horse ladies will meet.
These include Elle (M. Forest) after her victory in the Dortmund auction race against Kleeblatt (C. Fallon), or Empore (A. Starke), who excelled in the trial on this track. Quantanamera (M. Seidl) impressed in a Maiden race in Dortmund and could be the favourite.
But also The Länd Trophy (Group III; 55,000 Euro, 2,400 m) has it all. Only The Brave (C. Fallon) is the defending champion. Nerium (B. Murzabayev) seems to be well placed here as Leger third. Well Disposed (A. Starke) has a lot of class. Weston`s (M. Seidl) limitations have not been seen yet.
85,554 Euros (including jackpot of 34,859.34 Euros) will be played in the "7 wins!" bet.
The four-race bet will be offered three times. In the 6th race (Equalisation IV, 2,000 m) 20,000 Euros are guaranteed as payout. 10,000 euros each are offered in the 3rd race (Equalisation IV, 2,000 m) and the 10th race (Equalisation III, 1,800 m).
Elie de Beaufour hard to beat
Bordeaux-Le Bouscat, Sunday, 16 October: Twelve horses of the higher winning category will contest the 45th Grand Prix du Sud-Ouest in Bordeaux today (7th race/15.33 h/180,000 Euro/2550 m). Elie de Beaufour (Jean-Michel Bazire) is the clear favourite. The gelding was unbeatable three times in a row. He recently won in Laval with allowance and in La Capelle against Elvis du Vallon (Charles Cuiller) and Fakir du Lorault (Francois Lecanu) in superior style. Elie de Beaufour gets shooting help from Cresus di Poggio (Denis Brossard), who after four wins in Vincennes suffered a defeat in the Prix Caecilia (Group 3) and switched to the break. Delfino (Mathieu Mottier) caused a big surprise in the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere (Group 3) with a sure triumph over Cash du Rib (Jean Dersoir) and Elie du Beaufour, but later only ended in midfield in the Prix d`Eté (Group 2). Idao de Tillard (Clement Duvaldestin) will try outside the year today. He is to be reckoned with if things go smoothly. Ce Bello Romain (Franck Nivard) won the dress rehearsal in Toulouse against Cash du Rib and Diablo de Caponet (Leo Abrivard).

Champions Day with Baaeed at the end
Ascot, Saturday, 15 October: Today`s Champions Day at Ascot will feature top-class galloping. The event will be introduced by the Long Distance Cup (1st race/14.25pm/500,000 pounds/3210m), in which Trueshan (Hollie Doyle) could repeat his success from last year. For this to succeed, he will have to get rid of Eldar Eldarov (David Egan), who was without competition in the English St Leger (Group 1). Waterville (Ryan Moore), currently successful at the Curragh, could steal the show from the former.
The Champions Sprint Stakes (2nd race/15.00/500,000 pounds/2410 m) promises to be a fast-paced affair. Creative Force (William Buick) sold well when fourth in the July Cup (Group 1), now he could make up for lost time. Art Power (David Allan), who put on a one-horse show in the Ranaissance Stakes (Group 3), and Rohaan (Adam Kirby), who was a big winner in the Bengough Stakes (Group 3) here a fortnight ago, are in hot pursuit. Kinross (Frankie Dettori) is not to be overlooked as a series winner.
Ladies only` is the name of the game in the Champions Fillies & Mares (3rd race/15.40 hrs/500,000 pounds/2410 m), where Emily Upjohn (Frankie Dettori), who disappointed beyond measure in the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes (Group 1), should be able to build on her good honours in the English Oaks. Danger comes primarily from Eternal Pearl (William Buick) and Sea La Rosa (Tom Marquand), who have been unbeaten four and three times in a row respectively and appear strong enough to finish well in front.
It`s over the mile in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes (3rd race/15.40pm/1.156m pounds/1609m). Inspiral (Frankie Dettori) is well known to the local public having won the Coronation Stakes (Group 1). She recently set her career highlight in the Prix du Haras de Fresnay-le-Buffard (Group 1) in Deauville with a narrow victory against strong stallions. This time, the Gosden mare will have to face Modern Games (William Buick), who has a fresh victory in the Woodbine Mile Stakes (Group 1) to his credit. The Revenant (Ryan Moore) won that fixture two years ago. He underlined his good form in the Prix Daniel Wildenstein (Group 2) by finishing second.
The best comes at the end. In the Champion Stakes (5th race/17.00/1.3m pounds/2000m), the turf world looks to Baaeed (Jim Crowley), unbeaten in ten starts. It is the last appearance for the Sea-The-Stars son, then he switches to the stallion box. There is, however, a stumbling block in the form of Adayar (William Buick), the English Derby winner and fourth in last year`s Champion Stakes. His victorious comeback in Doncaster leaves much room for speculation.
Two-year-olds, handicappers and St. Leger winners in Munich
Munich, Saturday, 15 October: If that`s not a clever move. On Saturday, gallop sport in Germany continues in Munich, when eight races between 12 noon and 3.30 p.m. are staged as a "sandwich", so to speak, between the two racing days of the Sales & Racing Festival in Baden-Baden.
Over a long distance of 2,800 metres, the Equalisation II is leading. Lion`s Head (A. v. d. Troost) is unlikely to stop at the current score. Christian von der Recke has two irons in the fire with Ginistrelli (R. Piechulek), who just excelled again, and Orihime (A. Starkle), a long-distance specialist.
Only three horses will contest an age-weight race over 2,000 metres, but Aff un zo (A. Starke), the winner of the St. Leger 2021, will be there. Despite the long abstinence, the task looks tailor-made. The two-year-old competition over the mile also knows how to please. Muskoka (R. Piechulek) and Wales (E. Pedroza) seem to be the horses to beat.
10,000 Euros are guaranteed in the four-horse bet of the 7th race (Compensation III, 1,400 m). Quelinda (A. v. d. Troost) stands to win after the Cologne impression.

Once again it`s: Cast off on the Oos
Baden-Baden, Friday, 14 October: The Sales & Racing Festival in Baden-Baden once again offers top sport on two dates. The Ferdinand Leisten Memorial (BBAG Auction Race), the highest-priced race of the meeting, will start on Friday with 200,000 Euros offered for the two-year-old horses on the 1,400-metre course.
Postman (A. Starke) and Mister Hollow (L. Wolff) renew their fight from Düsseldorf. As the weights have shifted by two kilos in favour of the latter, the Grewe protégé could be closer this time. The Cologne coach also has the opener winner Willibald (E. Hardouin) in the running. Waldeza (R. Piechulek) already excelled here once. And Vintage Moon (W. Panov) also managed a win already.
The 1400 metres equaliser II can also be seen. Shymay (E. Pedroza) and Woodking (W. Panov) are two of the form horses.
The four-horse bet is offered twice - with a 10,000 Euro guarantee each in the 3rd race (Equalisation III, 1,200 m and in the 7th race (Equalisation IV, 1,600 m). There are seven races in total, the first start is at 13:15.
Mega racing day in Paris
Paris-Vincennes, Friday, 14 October: Big decisions will be made today at Vincennes, where the Grand Prix de l`U.E.T. (2nd race/18.57/400,000 Euro/2100m) marks the first main event. Of the three pre-race winners, Italiano Vero (David Thomain) made the strongest impression. Ideal du Pommeau (Matthieu Abrivard) and Louis E Lobell (Tony Le Beller) were in the picture behind the Allaire charge. Iway (Giampaolo Minucci) was even half a second faster in his preliminary run. The four-year-old easily defeated the higher-rated Inoubliable (Eric Raffin) and I Want You (Louis Baudron) was uncompetitive in third. In Solvalla, Sweden, Nugget Zon (Örjan Kihlström) surprised as an easy winner over Imhatra Am (Franck Nivard) and Aquarius Face (Jean-Michel Bazire). Of the favourites, only Kentucky River made it to the final without any real chance of winning.
There was a big crowd in the European Championships for five-year-olds (4th race/20.15 h/100,000 Euro/2100 m). Of the 17 horses eligible to start, three come from the quarters of Jean-Michel Bazire, who himself rides the recently faulted Heraut d`Armes. His son Nicolas has Hooker Berry, who also did not run smoothly in the Critérium des 5 Ans (Group 1), on the driving lines. Philippe Allaire is represented by Hohneck (Francois Lagadeuc). The millionaire is challenging Hussard du Landret (Benoit Robin), against whom he recently suffered a stinging defeat. Önas Prince (Per Nordström) could ensure a guest victory. The Swede recently won a heat of the Guld Divisions. For him it is the first appearance in France.

Wennemar still unbeaten in Longchamp?
Longchamp, Thursday, 13 October: Eight races are on the programme today at the noble track in Longchamp. In the Prix de Solferino (3rd race/15.00/35.000 Euro/2000 m), Wennemar (Bauyrzhan Murzabayev), trained by Waldemar Hickst for the Lucky Owner stable and unbeaten in two starts, will compete against six rivals.
The Soldier Hollow son recently saved a narrow advantage in Compiegne, but received good reviews from the trade press. The task looks solvable, but Valiabad (Gerald Mosse) from the quarters of Mikel Delzangles is a serious opponent, who won a handicap against Gaucher (Maxime Guyon) in Deauville and recently finished a good fourth at list level. Also by Soldier Hollow is L`Antharis (Hugo Journiac). In Chantilly the stallion finished third in a similar match, before that he won against higher rated horses. Woozle (Mickael Barzalona), for whom Markus Münch is responsible, Johen (Stephane Pasquier) and Guadalest (Mathieu Androuin) mainly stand out with smaller placings.

Comeback of Galvin in Punchestown
Punchestown, Wednesday 12 October: The second event of the "Welcome-back" Festival will take place today at the Hindenis track in Punchestown. At Group 3 level, the Coverage Chase (5th race/5.30pm/30,000 euros/3218m) will decide.
Of the six participants, Galvin (Davy Russell) earns the first clue. This year the eight-year-old ran in the Cheltenham Gold Cup (Group 1) and did brilliantly to finish fourth. After his less strong performance here in the Punchestown Gold Cup (Group 1), his season was over. Run Wild Fred (Jack Kennedy) also embodied the best class, finishing a good second in a Novices` Chase (Group 2), among others, but then twice failed to get over the chase jumps without an accident. Politesse (Darragh O`Keeffe) celebrated two victories in the summer, which now come under scrutiny. At Galway she beat Battleoverdoyen (Sam Ewing), who finished a good third behind Kemboy in the Champion Chase at Gowran Park only eleven days ago. Lord Lariat (P. O`Hanlon) was a superior winner of the Grand National at Fairyhouse before the break. Macgiloney (Sean Flanagan) has scored over hurdles so far.

Murzabayev in Saint-Cloud
Saint-Cloud, Tuesday, 11 October: Good sport comes from Saint-Cloud today, where in the Prix Bubbles (4th race/15.35 h/18.000 Euro/1300 m) Bauyrzhan Murzabayev, who is in continuing top form, will ride Toijk, who is competing under maximum weight, for Hella Sauer.
The six-year-old, who was victorious in Deauville this year, will primarily be competing against Lanaken (Mickael Berto), who recently won clearly in Le Lion-d`Angers. True Romance (Luca Carboni) attracted attention in the spring with smaller placings, then took a break and is now making his comeback under weight allowance. Mowaeva (Marie Velon) and Crew Dragon (Perrine Cheyer) also compete with favourable brands. The latter was convincing in a `Classe 2` on 21 September in Chantilly, finishing second to Azov (Gregory Benoist), who was fifth. The Luka protégé showed a strong performance at the same place in the Prix Marchand d`Or at list level just behind the leading group. Pradaro (Pierre Bazier) tried to win the Prix de l`Abbaye de Longchamp (Group 1) last year, but ended up in the beaten field. This year, he won smaller prize money.

13th Defi du Galop in Marseille
Marseille-Borely, Monday, October 10: The 13th leg of the Défi du Galop race series will be held today in Marseille-Borely. The Listed race will be run as Grand Prix des Provinces (7th race/15.17 h/52,000 Euro/2000 m).
Two three-year-olds will compete against eight older horses. Epic Poet (Cristian Demuro) from the stable of Jean-Claude Rouget is one of the closest favourites with his consistently strong form. The Lope-de-Vega son, who has run mostly in Longchamp this year, placed in the Prix du Prince d`Orange (Group 3) and was previously a Listed winner. Paco (Maxime Guyon) finished third ahead of Stormy Pouss (Valentin Seguy) here just under a year ago and at his last appearance in May he came in fifth ahead of Royal Force (Sylvain Ruis). Despite the break, the Reynier protégé should play a supporting role. Royal Force finished not far from a better placing in the Grand Prix de la Ville de Craon (Listed race) and in the seventh leg he surprised behind the winner and ahead of Bobbymurphy (Anthony Crastus). Integrant (Clement Lecoeuvre) hit it too hard at Group 3 level, there should be more in it this time. National Service (Tony Piccone) comes from heavy Quinté handicaps, he should not be overlooked.

Two-year-old event in Cologne
Cologne, Sunday, 09 October: There is still a lot to experience this season at the racecourse in Cologne. After all, Sunday is only the third last event of 2022 at Weidenpescher Park. However, there is the last group race to marvel at this year, the Prize of the Winter Favourite (Group III, 155,000 euros, 1,600 m).
In the field of two-year-olds, the Future Race runner-up See Paris (C. Lecoeuvre) could end up far in front. There is certainly danger from Fantastic Moon (R. Piechulek), who shone in Munich, or the Hoppegarten winner Arcandi (B. Murzabayev).
A total of eight competitions are scheduled between 11:20 a.m. and 3 p.m., with races 1 to 5 also part of the PMU card in France. In the Equaliser II over 1,850 metres, First of May (A. v. d. Troost) and Alpinius (M. Pecheur) are current form horses.
25,000 Euros are guaranteed in the four-way bet of the 5th race (Equalisation IV, 1,850 metres). The included jackpot is 10,000 Euros. 12,500 Euros are offered in the 7th race (Equalisation IV, 1,400 m), here a 2,500 Euro jackpot is included.
Group 1 winner in the Prix de Maisons-Laffitte
Auteuil, Sunday, 9 October: Four-year-old horses will be the target of today`s Prix de Maisons-Laffitte in Auteuil (5th race/16.25/120,000 Euro/3600 m). The group 3 race leads over the hurdles and gathers eight mares and geldings at the start.
Judging by the result in the Prix Alain du Breil (Group 1), which was decided here in May, Hawai du Berlais (Pierre Dubourg) cannot avoid being the favourite. Trained by Arnaud Chaille-Chaille, the four-year-old superiorly beat West End Girl (Kevin Nabet), who also finished clear ahead of Norville (Clement Lefebvre). This fully confirmed the trifecta from the Prix Amadou (Group 2). Hawai d Berlais has to watch out for Ine Anjou (Olivier Jouin), who gave her a clear rebuff in the Prix de Pepinvast (Group 3). Mister Vision (Angelo Zuliani) and Imperial Mag (Antoine Coupu) will be interesting as fresh list winners. In addition, the geldings have a condition advantage. Ines du Chenet (Ludovic Philipperon) made a strong impression in the Prix Questarabad (Group 3) ten lengths behind the winner. Bathyscaphe (James Reveley) already won a Group 3 race as a three-year-old.

Dortmund: Payday for the young ladies
Dortmund, Saturday, 08 October: Dortmund is not only the sand track as the cornerstone of the winter programme. The course in the Westphalian metropolis is also very important on grass, not only because of its very fair lines. On Saturday, the Johanna and Hugo Körver Memorial Race - BBAG Auction Race (52,000 Euros, 1,600 m) for two-year-old mares will again offer a top race.
Noblesse Oblige (M. Pecheur) finished third in a comparable test on this course should be the favourite. She could again be ahead of Kamand (A. Pietsch) and Loudina (R. Piechulek). First Moment (M. Cadeddu) is an interesting debutant. Lady Matilda (L. Wolff) certainly looks capable of improvement after her maiden placing.
Eight races are scheduled between 13:30 and 17:10. Of course, there is also a four-way bet with a 10,000 Euro guaranteed payout in the 6th race (Compensation III, 1,400 m). Lady Calcaria (A. de Vries) could be right up front again after her success on this course.

German hopes in the Prix Charles Laffitte
Compiegne, Friday, 7 October: There is a big crowd in Compiegne today in the Prix Charles Laffitte (7th race/17.10 pm/55,000 Euro/2000 m). 12 mares are competing at List level and German chances are also in the mix.
Jean-Pierre Carvalho and Carina Fey saddle Mythicara (Hugo Journiac) and Abhayaa (Eddy Hardouin), who finished in midfield in the Prize of Diana (Group 1). Waldemar Hickst is responsible for Rondina (Clement Lecoeuvre), last year`s runner-up in the Prize of the Winter Queen (Group 3). Blue Dazzled (Cyrille Stefan) is prepared by Miroslav Rulec. She cut a good figure in her last appearance at List level, finishing fifth not far behind Ondulee (Augustin Madamet) and Mythicara. Melo Melo (Mickael Barzalona), who only narrowly missed victory in Saint-Cloud, is the one to beat first and foremost. Babala (Maxime Guyon), who is running in the Prix de Diane (Group 1), should also play a major role.
Champions Festival kicks off
Newmarket, Friday 7 October: Two days of great sport will be on offer at the Rowley Mile in Newmarket. Today`s event centres on the Fillies Mile (4th race/16.35pm/528,750 pounds/1610m).
A year after Inspiral, John and Thady Gosden are again reaching for the classic with Commissioning (Robert Havlin). The Kingman daughter showed great talent in her most recent hit here in the Rockfel Stakes (Group 2). Bright Diamond`s (Clifford Lee) track success here in August and third place last time out in the Prestige Fillies Stakes (Group 3) also pointed the way to the future. Polly Pott (David Probert) won her last four starts. A month ago, the two-year-old pinned the May Hill Stakes (Group 2) on her banner ahead of Novakai (William Buick). Sparkling Beauty (David Egan) and Library (Ryan Moore) always show up in the frontstretch. Both are pencilled in for the surprise.

Ferland with two List chances
Bordeaux, Thursday, October 6: Youngsters will contest the Grand Critérium (5th race/14.07 p.m./60,000 euros/1600m), run as the Prix du Hong Kong Jockey Club, at Listed level in Bordeaux today. Following the withdrawal of Angelaba, trainer Christophe Ferland has two chances remaining in the race. Precious Sea (Enzo Corallo) won her first two appearances, then expired in the Prix de Condé (Group 3) and did not finish beyond midfield. Today`s task looks solvable. The mare will be helped by Galishko (Antoine Werle), who currently scored his first win in Toulouse at his fourth attempt. Sea The Lady (Gregory Benoist) was only narrowly beaten in the Critérium de l`Ouest (list race). She also has two early career successes to her credit. Showay (Anthony Crastus) made a good figure as list third in Craon in front of Ghrainne (Gary Sanchez). Blue Bayou (Jean-Bernard Eyquem) made two appearances in August, failing to break through at the Group 3 start at Chantilly. Lery (Guillaume Guedj-Gay) is an alternative to the mean with his good forms. Also Kamino (Adeline Merou) and Dabiradja (Alexandre Gavilan) already showed usefulness.

Elie de Beaufour once again a contender for victory
Laval, Wednesday, 5 October: Great start today in Laval, where the Grand Prix Anjou-Maine (1st race/13.50/100.000 Euro/2850 m) addresses horses of the higher winning category. Despite an easy allowance, the way to victory leads through Elie de Beaufour, trained and ridden by Jean-Michel Bazire.
The eight-year-old recently showed how strong he is in form in La Capelle and in Vincennes with his respective sovereign success over Decoloration (Gabriele Gelormini), who celebrated his last victory as an outsider in July. Jerry Mom (Matthieu Abrivard) and Rebella Matters (Nicolas Bazire) have mixed form but are conceivable in the placings at any time. Hatchet Man (Anthony Barrier) and Hokkaido Jiel (David Thomain) finished third and fourth respectively in the Critérium des 5 Ans (Group 1). From the basic mark, they should strike a sharp blade. Copsi (Dominik Locqueneux) underlined his good form in Vichy. Diego de Cahot (Theo Duvaldestin) pleased in Paris in a strong `B` race. Flamme du Goutier (Franck Nivard) won the Prix de Cornulier (Group 1) under saddle and placed in the Prix d`Amérque (Group 1). She completes the second start after break.
Schütz targets the Prix de Bonneval with Go Athletico
Chantilly, Wednesday, 5 October: Twelve sprinters will compete in today`s Prix de Bonneval (7th race/15.17 h/52,000 Euro/1100 m) in Chantilly, which counts as a Listed class. Andreas Schütz is well represented by Go Athletico (Gerald Mosse).
The four-year-old last placed at Group 3 level and before that finished in the Prix de Meautry (Group 3) in midfield behind Loubeisien (Maxime Guyon) and Le Cadeau (Tony Piccone) not far from a better placing. Loubeisien came in strong at List level even before that. Here he won over sand at worthwhile odds in the spring ahead of Le Cadeau, who narrowly missed out on victory in the Prix Texanita (Group 3). Tudo Bem (Hugo Boutin) runs his best races on this course and, like the well-classed Pricne Lancelot (Stephane Pasquier) and Forza Capitano (Mickael Barzalona), lurks behind the group of favourites. Of the four mares, Snow Empress (Cristian Demuro), who has won twice this year, should make it furthest.

Rulec chance to open in Auteuil
Auteuil, Tuesday, 4 October: Today`s steeplechase event in Auteuil will be heralded by the Prix Guillaume de Pracomtal (1st race/13.50/95,000 Euro/3600 m). The List Handicap leads over hurdle jumps and gathers a total of 14 four-year-old horses at the start after two withdrawals. Iban Roque (Dylan Salmon) has not yet made a mistake in four appearances this year and has always been on the podium. Recently, the four-year-old was one length short of full success. Spirit of The Moon (Ludovic Philipperon) was close behind in third place, before he finished fifth in the Prix Melanos (List race) behind Zaky (Lea Suisse), who is saddled by Miroslav Rulec for German interests. In August, the Muhtathir son won his second race of the year as an outsider in Deauville. Impulse Precieuse (Alban Desvaux) and Odela (Thomas Beaurain) sold themselves dearly behind the leaders a fortnight ago, both are eligible for the front ranks. Impressive Machin (Alain de Chitray) currently finished below value, which was obviously due to the chasing track. Today`s track should suit him better. Vae Patron (Jeremy de Silva) completed the trifecta behind Zaky. Sideralis (Bertrand Lestrade) finished behind Spirit of The Moon at Group 3 level last year.

Capital City Highlight on German Unity Day
Berlin-Hoppegarten, Monday, 03 October: Monday is National Day in this country, and the sport of gallop racing also celebrates this date with the 32nd Prize of German Unity (Group III, 55,000 euros, 2,000 m) at the Berlin-Hoppegarten racecourse.
The search is on for the successor to Grocer Jack, who entered the list of winners of the competition a year ago. India (A. Starke), also prepared by Waldemar Hickst, could win again here after her triumph in the Future Race, because she did not lose a single race in the T v. Zastrow Prize to the good Amazing Grace. The late entry could pay off. Queroyal (E. Pedroza) had to make do with fourth place in Iffezheim, but he can do better. Best of Lips (M. Seidl) recently ran well in La Coupe in France. Calif (B. Murzabayev) placed at group level at the penultimate start. Mansour (M. Cadeddu) should increase the recent form.
The rest of the programme is also pleasing. Three-year-old horses are reserved for the final round of the Sparkassen-Sprintserie - BBAG Auktionsrennen Berlin-Hoppegarten (52,000 Euro, 1,400 m). With Arnis Master (A. de Vries), Saldenlady (M. Pecheur) and True Tedesco (B. Murzabayev) specialists for such races meet.
In the equalisation I over 1,800 metres, Western Soldier (B. Murzabayev) and Way to Dubai (E. Pedroza) renew their duel from this track. The four-way bet with guaranteed payouts of 11,111 euros each will be offered in the 4th race (Equalisation III, 2,400 metres) and in the 8th race (Equalisation III, 1,800 metres).

German hopes in the Prix de l`Arc de Triomphe
Paris-Longchamp, Sunday, 2 October: The 101st edition of the Prix de l`Arc de Triomphe (4th race/16.05 h/5 million Euro/2400 m) is the outstanding event in Longchamp today. From the German point of view, there are three times to cross one`s fingers. Mendocino, Mare Australis and last year`s winner Torquator Tasso will take on 17 competitors.
In detail these are:
1. Mishriff (William Buick) - still winless in 2022, but always prominently placed. Will be used as a stud in the future.
2. Toraquator Tasso (Frankie Dettori) - Last year`s Arc winner and runner-up in the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes.
3. Mare Australis (Bauyrzhan Murzabayev) - Group 1 winner at this track, disappointing seventh last time out, has not been at the expiry since July.
4. Sealiway (Mickael Barzalona) - Won the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere here, finished four and a half lengths behind Torquator Tasso last year.
5. Alenquer (Tom Marquand) - Comes from German breeding, runs for foreign interests. Had nothing to do with last year`s `Arc` decision. Only saw Luxembourg from behind in the Champion Stakes.
6. Deep Bond (Yuga Kawada) - Multi-Millionaire from Japan, last year without a chance. Won the Prix Foy before. Ran last time at home and came in fourth.
7. Broome (Wayne Lordan) - Finished last year, won the Hardwicke Stakes this year.
8. Stay Foolish (Christophe-Patrice Lemaire) - Very good second in the Grand Prix de Deauville to Botany, who was on expiry in the Prix Dollar yesterday. Sure winner in the Dubai Gold Cup at Meydan.
9. Mostahdaf (Jim Crowley) - Successful dress rehearsal at Kempton over sand, good second in the Hardwicke Stakes to Broome.
10. Mendocino (Rene Piechulek) - Beat Torquator Tasso in Baden-Baden, threatened with a reversal of form today.
11. titleholder (Kazuo Yokoyama) - Next Japanese hope, who clearly showed Deep Bond the irons last time in Hanshin.
12. Bubble Gift (Olivier Peslier) - Didn`t go wrong behind the winner in the `warm up` in the Prix Foy. Finished not far from an `Arc` placing in 2021.
13. Grand Glory (Maxime Guyon) - One of two mares. Two-time track winner this year, last out in Prix Vermeille with no opportunities.
14. Alpinista (Luke Morris) - Serial winner in Germany and unbeaten this year.
15. Vadeni (Christophe Soumillon) - French Derby winner and currently third in the Irish Champion Stakes.
16. Al Hakeem (Cristian Demuro) - Fourth in the Derby behind Vadeni. Bigpoint at Deauville at Group 2 level.
17. Onesto (Stephane Pasquier) - Honourable defeat in the Irish Champion Stakes. Winner in the Grand Prix de Paris after struggle.
18. Westover (Rob Hornby) - Won the Irish Derby. Disappointed badly at Ascot well behind Torquator Tasso.
19. Do Deuce (Yutaka Take) - Japanese Derby winner. Had nothing to report in the Prix Niel.
20. Luxembourg (Ryan Moore) - Showed further improvement when triumphing in the Irish Champion Stakes. Seen by many as the new `Arc` winner.
Group highlight at the end of 2022
Düsseldorf, Sunday, 02 October: The Grand Prix of the State Capital Düsseldorf (Group III, 55,000 Euros, 1,700 m), which will be held for the 102nd time in the NRW metropolis on Sunday, traditionally marks the end of the racing year. And this time, too, the field leaves hardly anything to be desired.
For Novemba (L.-M. Engels) it is a return to the place of her greatest success after several appearances in England. Gestüt Auenquelles Dapango (T. Hammer-Hansen) was very pleasing during his success in the Oettingen race in Iffezheim. See Hector (C. Lecoeuvre) is interesting in spring form. Aemilianus (A. Starke) did well in France and is now in for a jump. Cantilena (A. Roussel), who represents the top stable of Henri-Alex Pantall, should not be left out either.
The supporting programme of the total of eight races between 1:20 pm and 5:55 pm is also very appealing. In the Schloss Roland Mare Prize (Listed race, 22,500 Euros, 1,400 m), Goldana (L. Wolff) should be among the front runners after her top placing from Iffezheim. She could also hold her own against the guest mares. In the leading Equalisation II over 1,400 metres, Vicente (A. Starke) and Schützenprinz (A. Roussel) renew their duel from Baden-Baden.
The "7 wins!" bet experiences its baptism of fire on this day in Düsseldorf and Hanover. In seven selected races the winners are to be tipped. The reward: a guarantee of 77,777 euros plus a jackpot of 7,777 euros. The four-horse bet with a guaranteed payout of 10,000 euros is offered in the 7th race (Equalisation III, 7,200 euros, 1,700 m). Shano (A. Pietsch) could now make it.

Two days of top sport in Longchamp
Longchamp, Saturday, 1 October: It`s that time again, the mega-spectacle around the Prix de l`Arc de Triomphe starts today in Longchamp with a nine-race card and numerous group tests.
The Prix Dollar (7th race/17.00 h/200.000 Euro/1950 m) is in the sights of Peter Schiergen, who won the fixture 16 years ago with Soldier Hollow and is now hoping for Noble Heidi (Bauyrzhan Murzabayev), who finished third in the Prize of Diana (Group 1) this year. A total of eleven opponents are standing in the mare`s way. Among them are Botanik (Mickael Barzalona), who is used to winning, the Haggas protégés Addeybb (Tom Marquand) and Grocer Jack (Ryan Moore) and Junko (Maxime Guyon), who recently ran strongly in Deauville.
Stayer qualities will be in demand in the Prix du Cadran (race 6/16.25/300,000 euros) when the race is run over four kilometres. Kyprios (Ryan Moore) is the new star in the `Marathon` sky after Stradivarius. The O`Brien protégé, who is unbeaten this year, will be tested by the currently successful Goya Senora (Gregory Benoist), Almacado Gree (Tony Piccone) and Quickthorn (Tom Marquand), who was 17 lengths ahead in the Lonsdale Cup (Group 2) in York and sent Tashkhan (Ben Robinson), among others, to the losing line. Whether German representatives Vivienne Wells (Bauyrzhan Murzabayev) and Lubiane (Marie Velon) will play a role remains to be seen.
The Prix de Royallieu (3rd race/14.33 hrs/300,000 Euro/2800 m), in which the mares are addressed, also goes the long way. Sea la Rosa (Tom Marquand) impressed when winning the Prix de Pomone (Group 2) over Love Child (Mickael Barzalona) and Jannah Flower (Stephane Pasquier) and goes off as favourite. Verry Elleegant (Mark Zahra) sold herself very dearly at the dress rehearsal in the Prix Foy (Group 2) when she finished third. She is expected to be in the front as well as Emily Dickinson (Ryan Moore), who arrives from Ireland with good placings.
Mülheim: Germany`s longest flat race
Mülheim, Saturday, 01 October: More than four minutes of high voltage, that is the motto on Saturday in Mülheim, because the Ruhr racecourse presents the Nurmi spectacle in this country with the RP Gruppe 79th Silver Ribbon of the Ruhr (List race, 25,000 euros, 4,000 m). Nowhere else does it go over such a long way on the flat track as here.
Arrival (A. Starke) has already proven a horse`s tongue and arrives with current Baden-Baden form. Maybe she can be at the front again now. One should not write off Alerta Roja (T. Hammer-Hansen), who only finished fourth there as the favourite. A year ago, the mare owned by Tetra Pak heiress Kirsten Rausing finished fifth. Also dangerous are Niagaro (L. Wolff) and last year`s runner-up Noa Lea (A. v. d. Troost).
Eight races will be held on Saturday between 1:30 pm and 5 pm. 10,000 Euros stand over the foursome bet of the 7th race (Equalisation IV, 2,000 m). Little Hercules (A. v. d. Recke) is a potential set horse.
