Hard to beat Emeraude de Bais

Cagnes-sur-Mer, Monday 31 July: Seven races will be held on the Riviera tonight. The Prix Alexandre Roucayrol (2nd race/6.53 p.m./69,000 euros/2925 m), which belongs to group 3, appeals to a better class.

Emeraude de Bais (Franck Nivard) won an almost identical game here three weeks ago. The clear favorite was nine-year-old Ecureuil Jenilou (Gwenn Junod), Eden Basque (Nicolas Ensch) and El Greco Bello (Jean-Charles Féron). Eberton (Junior Guelpa) and Fifty Five Bond (Christophe Martens) had nothing to do with the closer decision, but in contrast to the faulty fighter Smart (Jean-Christophe Sorel), they were still in contact with the peloton.

Emeraude de Bais, the only mare in the field of ten, shouldn`t let the game go. Honky Tonk Blues (Guillaume Lemoine), who came in second here two weeks ago, shouldn`t be a threat either. Gimy du Pommereux (David Cinier) makes his comeback after a very successful winter meeting, he will probably need this start again.

Dallmayr Prize attracts the elite to Munich

Munich, Sunday, July 30th: On Sunday, turf fans will once again be looking to Munich when the Grand Dallmayr Prize (Group I, EUR 155,000, 2,000 m), an absolutely top event, is held here.

Of course, most of the looks will go to the local hero Fantastic Moon (R. Piechulek), who will be back at the start for the first time since his triumph in Hamburg. Maybe he can emulate Sammarco (A. de Vries), who made the Derby/Dallmayr double in 2022. He is also doing the honors in Riem again. Best of Lips (M. Seidl) and Best Lightning (T. Hammer-Hansen) are fresh group winners. A tough touchstone is Stall Godolphin`s Nations Pride (W. Buick), because his brilliant performances from Dubai are still well remembered. The Frenchman Skalleti (A. Orani) excelled here two years ago and comes again from France with very good chances.

Ten races are waiting between 11:20 a.m. and 4:40 p.m., of which the first five stages also belong to the PMU map in France. In the Konrad Werner Wille-Memorial (listed race, 25,000 euros, 1,400 m) the game seems quite open, maybe Sunset Lane (W. Panov) is far ahead after the recent placement against guests from France.

In the Dallmayr Coupe Lukull - David Conolly-Smith-Memorial (compensation I, 1,600 m), See Paris (L. Delozier) could again offer more than on group parquet. He even started in the derby.

10,000 euros are up for grabs in the four-way bet of the 5th race (level III, 1.600 m). Wynono (S. Biessey) and Funky Lady (A. v. d. Troost) are possible options. The V4 bet offered in races 2 to 5 is worth 10,000 euros.

Nine mares in the Prix Rothschild

Deauville, Sunday, July 30: Today, the La Touques hippodrome in Deauville is the venue for numerous high-quality group tests such as the classic Prix Rothschild (5th race/4:25 p.m./300,000 euros/1600 m). Nine mares compete here to succeed Saffron Beach.

Kelina (Maxime Guyon) and Sauterne (Tony Piccone), who finished first in the Prix de Sandringham (Group 2), should have their first chances. Remarquee (Rob Hornby) arrives from England with strong forms. She finished second in the Coronation Stakes (Group 1) ahead of Sounds of Heaven (Shane Foley) and repeated the result in the Falmouth Stakes (Group 1) behind the superior winner Nashwa, ahead of Mqse de Sevigne (Alexis Pouchin) in second ended up in the Prix Corrida (Group 2). Rogue Millennium (Daniel Tudhope) falls as the Duke of Cambridge Stakes (Group 2) winner ahead of the utterly disappointing Grande Dame (Ryan Moore), who is expected to run better today. Life In Motion (Mickael Barzalona) should also correct her cancellation result from Longchamp. She performed very well in the Dahlia Stakes (Group 2). Little is expected of Tairann (Augustin Madamet).

With the Prix de Cabourg (race 4/3:50 p.m.) and the Prix Six Perfections (race 7/5:35 p.m.) for two-year-old horses and the Prix de Psyche reserved for three-year-old mares (race 6/5:00 p.m.), there are three tests in this category Group 3 on the program.
